
With this simple tip you can not only move the icons for system or third-party apps but also move the time or your Mac name tag wherever you like. Through the main System Preferences menu, you can modify the settings on your MacBook to automatically hide this dock bar. Now, if you’d like to actually remove one of these icons instead, all you’ll do is hold down Command again and drag it out of the menu bar, like so: Wait a moment or two after you drag, and a tiny x will appear on the icon. To change these preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Dock & Menu Bar. When you drag a status menu to its new location, just let go, and the positioning will remain.

Now you know how to personalize the status bar and show the status bar items the way you like. On your Mac, use Dock & Menu Bar System Preferences to change the appearance of the Dock, and to select items to show in the menu bar and in Control Center. The advantage here is that you get more usable screen space because the menu bar. Simply open System Preferences, select General and select the box that says Automatically hide and show the menu bar. The same way you can make your Mac’s Dock disappear, you can do the same with the menu.

You can also remove the status bar icons by holding the Command key and moving the icon out of the menu bar. Make the Menu Bar disappear to get more screen.
